DHB (Dihydroboldenone) Cypionate

A profile on 1-Testosterone Cypionate, a potent dry compound known for significant lean mass gains but notorious for post-injection pain.

DHB (Dihydroboldenone) Cypionate

DHB (Dihydroboldenone), also known chemically as 1-Testosterone (1-Test Cyp), is a 5-alpha reduced form of Boldenone (Equipoise).

Despite the name "Dihydroboldenone," it acts very differently from Boldenone. It is considered a much more potent anabolic, providing lean, dry gains without water retention. It is often compared to Primobolan or Trenbolone in terms of the "look" it provides, but without the mental side effects of Tren.

Mechanism of Action

Structurally, it is to Boldenone what DHT is to Testosterone. The 5-alpha reduction changes the molecule significantly. It binds extremely tightly to the androgen receptor.

Crucially, DHB cannot aromatize. It does not convert to estrogen. It creates a very dry, vascular, and hard physique.

Pharmacokinetics & Dosing

Half-Life: ~8-10 Days

  • Frequency: Twice Weekly (e.g., Monday/Thursday).
  • Dosage: 300-600mg per week is standard.
  • The Solvent Issue: DHB has a very high melting point. To keep it in liquid solution (oil), underground labs must use high concentrations of solvents like Ethyl Oleate (EO) or Guaiacol. This leads to the drug's most famous characteristic: Extreme PIP.

Primary Effects

1. Thermogenic/Sweating

Like Trenbolone, DHB often raises body temperature and causes night sweats, though usually to a lesser degree.

2. Strength & Lean Mass

It is a potent mass builder. It is significantly stronger than Equipoise and Primobolan.

3. No Water Retention

The gains are 100% tissue. There is zero bloat associated with this compound.

Side Effects & Harm Reduction

PIP Warning:

Post Injection Pain: DHB is arguably the most painful injectable commonly used. The solvents required to keep it suspended can cause severe inflammation, knots, and "crippling" muscle soreness that lasts for days. Many users discontinue use simply because they run out of injection sites that aren't inflamed.

1. Kidney Stress

There is anecdotal evidence and some animal data suggesting DHB may stress the kidneys more than other standard anabolics.

2. Crashing Estrogen

Because it does not aromatize and is quite potent, running DHB with a low dose of Testosterone can result in crashed estrogen levels (dry joints, mood issues).

Tracking DHB

Using the Anabolic Tracker app:

  1. Inventory: Add DHB (Dihydroboldenone).
  2. Scheduling: Twice Weekly.
  3. Site Rotation: Critical. You will likely need to use every available muscle group to allow for recovery from the inflammation caused by the injections.
  4. Notes: Log reaction severity. If swelling becomes red and hot, monitor for infection vs. solvent irritation.
