GHK-Cu
A profile on the Copper Peptide, famous for its skin regeneration, wound healing, and anti-aging properties.
GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu (Glycyl-L-Histidyl-L-Lysine Copper) is a naturally occurring copper complex found in human plasma. Levels drop significantly as we age (by age 60, levels are less than half of what they were at age 20).
It is arguably the most researched cosmetic peptide in history, used for tightening loose skin, healing scars, and regrowing hair.
Quick Specs
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Active Compound | GHK-Cu |
| Half-Life | ~1 Hour |
| Mechanism | Tissue Remodeling / Anti-Inflammatory |
| Administration | SubQ (Systemic) or Topical (Local) |
Mechanism of Action
GHK-Cu acts as a feedback signal for tissue injury. It:
- Stimulates Collagen: Increases collagen and elastin production.
- Remodels Tissue: Breaks down scar tissue and replaces it with healthy tissue.
- DNA Repair: Resets genes to a younger, healthier state.
Pharmacokinetics & Dosing
Administration
- Injectable (Systemic): For whole-body healing and skin tightening.
- Topical (Local): Creams/Serums for face (wrinkles) or scalp (hair loss).
Dosing Protocol (Injectable)
- Dosage: 1mg - 2mg per day.
- Frequency: Daily.
- Cycle: 30 days on, 30 days off.
- Copper Toxicity: Because it contains copper, chronic high-dose usage can lead to copper toxicity. Zinc supplementation is recommended to balance copper levels.
Primary Effects
1. Skin Quality
Tightens loose skin, reduces fine lines, and improves elasticity.
2. Wound Healing
Accelerates healing of surgical wounds and injuries.
3. Hair Growth
Increases hair follicle size and stops shedding (often combined with minoxidil).
Side Effects & Harm Reduction
The Sting:
Injection Pain: GHK-Cu is extremely painful to inject. It burns significantly.
- Solution: Dilute it heavily with bacteriostatic water or mix it in the same syringe with BPC-157 (which acts as a buffer) to reduce the pain.
1. Zinc Depletion
High copper displaces zinc. Take a Zinc supplement (30-50mg) daily while on cycle.
Tracking GHK-Cu
Using the Anabolic Tracker app:
- Inventory: Add GHK-Cu.
- Scheduling: Daily.
