Stenabolic (SR9009)

A profile on SR9009, "exercise in a bottle," a Rev-Erb agonist known for metabolic boosts and endurance, hampered by poor oral bioavailability.

Stenabolic (SR9009)

Stenabolic (SR9009) is a synthetic Rev-Erb ligand. It is frequently mislabeled as a SARM, but it affects circadian rhythm and metabolism, not androgen receptors.

It was famously dubbed "exercise in a bottle" by media outlets after studies showed mice treated with it developed the muscles of a marathon runner without actually exercising.

Quick Specs

PropertyValue
Active CompoundSR9009
Half-Life~4 Hours
Detection Time~3-4 Weeks
Anabolic/Androgenic RatioN/A (Non-Hormonal)
Chemical FamilyRev-Erb Agonist
AdministrationOral / Injectable

Mechanism of Action

SR9009 binds to the Rev-Erb protein, which is found in the liver, skeletal muscle, and fat tissue. Activation of Rev-Erb:

  1. Increases mitochondria count in muscle.
  2. Switches off genes responsible for storing fat.
  3. Increases lipid and glucose metabolism.

Pharmacokinetics & Dosing

Half-Life: ~4 Hours

This compound has a very short half-life and extremely poor oral bioavailability (around 2-3%).

  • The Problem: Most of the oral dose is destroyed by the liver before entering the bloodstream.
  • The Solution:
    • Sublingual: Holding the liquid under the tongue helps absorption.
    • Injectable: Bypasses the liver issue completely. Highly recommended over oral.
    • Solvents: Injectable SR9009 can be painful (PIP) due to solvents.
  • Frequency: 3-4 times per day (e.g., every 4 hours) is required for oral use to see any benefit.

Primary Effects

1. Endurance & Stamina

Significant increase in cardiovascular output.

2. Fat Loss (Even at Rest)

It increases the basal metabolic rate.

3. Lipid Profile

Studies show it decreases triglycerides and total cholesterol significantly.

Side Effects & Harm Reduction

Bioavailability:

Oral vs Injectable: Many users claim SR9009 "doesn't work." This is almost always because they are taking it orally. The oral bioavailability is so low that it is virtually ineffective unless dosed extremely high or taken sublingually/injected.

1. Wakefulness

Can cause insomnia if taken too close to bed.

2. Non-Suppressive

Does not affect testosterone. No PCT needed.

Tracking Stenabolic

Using the Anabolic Tracker app:

  1. Inventory: Add Stenabolic (SR9009).
  2. Scheduling: 3x Daily or 4x Daily. This is tedious but necessary for oral administration.
  3. Metrics: Track Step Count or Cardio stats.
