DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide)

A profile on the neuropeptide that regulates deep Delta-wave sleep and reduces stress.

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide)

DSIP is a naturally occurring neuropeptide first isolated from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during induced sleep.

As the name implies, its primary function is to induce Delta-Wave Sleep (Slow Wave Sleep). This is the deepest, most restorative stage of sleep where physical repair and hormonal optimization occur.

Mechanism of Action

DSIP's mechanism is complex and not fully understood, but it appears to modulate the GABA and glutamate systems in the brain. Crucially, it normalizes blood pressure and reduces cortisol levels. It does not act like a sedative (e.g., Xanax); rather, it "sets the stage" for the brain to enter deep sleep naturally.

Pharmacokinetics & Dosing

Dosing Protocol

  • Dosage: 100mcg - 200mcg.
  • Timing: 3-4 hours before bed (not right before).
    • Why? Paradoxically, injecting it immediately before bed can sometimes cause wakefulness in some users. Taking it earlier allows the hormonal cascade to settle by bedtime.
  • Frequency: Every other day or 3x weekly.
  • Diminishing Returns: High doses do not work better and can desensitize receptors.

Primary Effects

1. Deep Sleep

Increases the ratio of Slow Wave Sleep (SWS). Users report waking up feeling physically restored.

2. Stress Reduction

Potently lowers ACTH and cortisol levels, helping users who are "wired and tired" to relax.

3. LH Release

DSIP has been shown to stimulate the release of Luteinizing Hormone (LH), potentially aiding testosterone production.

Side Effects & Harm Reduction

Timing is Key:

The Paradox: If taken too close to sleep, some users report insomnia. Experiment with timing. 2-4 hours pre-bed is the sweet spot for most.

1. Tolerance

DSIP builds tolerance quickly. It should not be used every single night for months. Use it to fix a broken sleep schedule, then cycle off.

Tracking DSIP

Using the Anabolic Tracker app:

  1. Inventory: Add DSIP.
  2. Scheduling: Every Other Day (PM).
  3. Metrics: Track Sleep Quality and Resting Heart Rate (lower cortisol = lower RHR).
